Position Summary:
The successful candidate will be well-versed in the engineering and architectural aspects of all aspects of network infrastructure, desktops, security, Microsoft Active Directory and have extensive experience with servers & applications of various technologies including, server management, design, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Key areas and routine tasks will include responsibility for the configuration and ongoing support of several enterprise-wide environments including Exchange 2003, data networks, web based systems and Helpdesk solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze system and user requirements
  • Ensure the operation and security of network infrastructure, servers, and desktop systems
  • Performs advanced trouble-shooting for network hardware, software problems and troubleshooting activities to isolate and diagnose common PC problems
  • Support and coordinate all corporate Server systems, applications and operating systems including upgrades to hardware & software as required.
  • Ensure corporate patch levels are adhered to, perform testing and troubleshooting
  • Audit and maintain security levels consistent with the Security Policies. This may include developing and implementing policies, performing intrusion testing, identifying & correcting security vulnerabilities and implement security related software.
  • Enhance existing and recommend new technologies to improve company efficiency and quality
  • Provide technical assistance to all staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

The person successfully performing this role will exhibit the following competencies and/or meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Principles of networked computer systems and architectures; servers, operating systems and networking components;
  • Ability to: Independently research, analyze, and determine appropriate course of action for complex technical solutions and problems; use hardware efficiently and effectively; write technical specifications; prioritize workload effectively; ability to work well under critical conditions; able to work extended hours if needed; meet critical deadlines; communicate effectively with users, CareMedic’s management and outside vendors
  • Able to work independently and as a team member
  • Working experience with both LAN and WAN technologies
  • Industry standard certifications, such as MCSE, CCNA, MCSA, A+, are recommended.
  • In-depth knowledge and working experience with Microsoft operating systems including Windows 2000, Windows 2003, and XP
  • Working experience with storage technologies including SAN, NAS, IScsi
  • Excellent verbal, written, listening and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated Dependability
  • Demonstrated Multi-tasking ability

Education/Training/Experience:
Bachelor Degree in a technical discipline preferred, and/or equivalent prior experience

Level III – Specific Qualifications

  • Works independently and with team members in troubleshooting and performing accurate root cause analysis for resolving problems that have multiple system dependencies (PC workstations, network, software products, databases, modems, telephony etc.)
  • Creates detailed Change Management documentation and implements well-thought-out changes to production systems. Mentors junior administrators in Change Management processes and disciplines. Lead implementation of systems into production
  • 5 plus years working in a systems/network administration position with networks of greater than 350 users in an environment using Microsoft networks
  • Assist in developing IT architecture plans, taking into account the needs and goals of the organization.
  • Must have experience with computing environments connected to the Internet and understand the associated security implications.
  • Demonstrated project leadership in enterprise implementations
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and communication/presentation skills
  • MCSE and A+ certified, CISSP certification a plus
