Senior Application Developer

Department Product Development
Reports To: Director of Product Development

Position Summary:

  • Develops (codes) projects independently, and works on assigned sections of code in a team environment
  • Responsible for analyzing and developing high level coding functions
  • Design or assist in design of technical specifications and product architecture
  • Performs unit testing and completes all technical documentation
  • Ensures that code and documentation is readable and up to date in code management systems
  • Corrects software defects as reported by the customers
  • Keeps management well informed of all activities and of any significant problems or concerns

The successful candidate must have hands-on experience in:

  • Object Oriented Programming (OOP)
  • Developing Web and Windows Applications in the .NET environment
  • C#, ASP.NET, ADO.NET and Web Services
  • SQL Server and SQL query language
  • Database administration and design
  • Date Integration Tools and Experience
  • Healthcare experience and EDI knowledge
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work across multiple levels of application developers and Subject Matter Experts (SME)

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None (From time to time, may serve as a Technical Leader / Architect)

  • Development and Programming Staff 
  • QA staff 
  • Network Operations Staff 
  • Clearinghouse Operations Staff 
  • Client Support Staff
  • Implementation Staff

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years programming experience
  • Application design and coding in distributed object-oriented systems
  • Proven experience in working with development teams with a complete SDLC
  • Ability to recognize and recommend product improvement opportunities
  • Ability to provide time estimates for development tasks
  • Understanding of development methodologies such as agile, extreme programming & RU
  • Understanding of ETL methodologies and Tools (Pervasive, SSIS, Edifecs)

Travel

Occasional travel may be necessary - 5%
