CareMedic's NPI Statement

CareMedic urgently reminds all customers that the HHS' May 23, 2008, compliance deadline to use National Provider Identifiers (NPIs) for all HIPAA standard transactions has passed.

Effective immediately, only the NPI will be accepted for all HIPAA electronic transactions (837I, 837P, NCPDP, DDE, 276/277, 270/271 and 835), paper claims (UB-04 and CMS-1500) and SPR remittance advice including all primary and secondary provider fields.

Please note: To help ensure claim acceptance, CareMedic encourages all customers to continue to submit both legacy identifiers and NPI. If legacy identifiers are submitted to CareMedic, only the appropriate identifiers will be submitted per each payer's requirements.

If you have any NPI related questions, please email support@caremedic.com or contact your CareMedic Customer Support Representative at (800)-761-9830.
